Hope Probe… For UAE, Nothing is Impossible

The successful launch of the Hope Probe on its journey to Mars marks a new stage in the history of the UAE that brings with it hopes and aspirations for the Arab and Islamic worlds to contribute to global progress. This global achievement would not have come true had it not been for our prudent leadership’s infinite support for the sons and daughters of the nation.
From inception, our leadership trusted their citizens ability to lead the National Space Programme (Emirates Mars Mission), motivated, and unleashed the potential of creativity and innovation upon them. And in return, they proved to live up to the expectations. They are now leading the Hope Probe mission, which expresses the UAE’s civilisational and humanitarian mission in the service of humanity.
The many messages addressed by the wise leadership to the Hope Probe team at various stages have had the greatest impact on achieving this major global accomplishment. These messages have been entrenched in the hearts of this team’s self-confidence and pride in belonging to the country, which deserves great sacrifices from everyone. These messages express the leadership’s belief that qualified youth who are equipped with knowledge are the real wealth of the UAE, since they will boost the position of the country among the developed nations.
The investment in building national cadres has been the most important mainstay of the Emirates space exploration project, in order to Emiratise this vital sector fully, which is one of the strategic sectors that require national expertise. Today, this goal has been achieved, as the UAE has now a broad base of national cadres that have significant experience in the space sector. The team that leads the Hope Probe project is an Emirati team that embraces a constellation of national experts, engineers and technical staff.
When it is said that the UAE is a country for which nothing is impossible, this is a fact confirmed by actions on the ground. The story of Hope Probe is the optimal embodiment of this, for the process of launching the probe on time was a great challenge, given that it coincided with COVID-19 pandemic crisis that imposed a hard reality and halted transportation and navigation movement across the world.
However, the UAE has managed to overcome these challenges, and has already proved that it has a strong will to defeat any obstacles. That is because the prudent leadership has entrenched in the people of the country a culture of achievement, excellence and leadership. These values prompted the probe team to redouble their efforts during the past weeks, in order to achieve this historic achievement.

The launch of the Hope Probe to the Red Planet will not be the end, but it is rather a pillar for national scientific projects in the long run, through which the UAE seeks to strengthen its leadership in the field of space globally. This includes the establishment of the first human settlement on the surface of Mars by 2117.
The UAE is confident of its ability to compete in the global arena, as long as it possesses tools such as qualified human capital, highly technical and technological infrastructure, and an advanced system of education and scientific research that enable it to undertake large development projects.
