Dassault Aviation Showcases its Strength at Paris Air Show

The Dassault Aviation Group presented its dual civil and military know-how at the recently concluded International Paris Air Show at Paris-Le Bourget Airport.

The company exhibited models of Falcon, Rafale, Falcon missions, ATL2, drones, future aircraft and space vehicles, in a series of panels, video screens and showcases describing its activities. A dedicated space called "Rafale Inside" allowed visitors to live an experience in virtual reality. The stand also highlighted Dassault Aviation’s work in the area of environmental preservation.

The statics highlighted the Rafale, the Falcon 8X, 900LX, 2000S / LXS, and the cabin of the Falcon 6X. In a special compound, a simulator demonstrated the operational capabilities of the Rafale. Dedicated high tech spaces were in place for customer support.
Every day, at the beginning of the afternoon, attendees were treated to a demonstration in flight of the Rafale by the Air Force, and the Falcon 8X by test pilots.

Dassault Aviation also participated in the fourth edition of "L'avion des métiers" as well as in the Training Employment Forum. These events allowed those interested in aeronautics to attend demonstrations and directly consider career opportunities with the company’s engineers, technicians, journeymen and recruiters. In 2019, Dassault Aviation has reportedly hired a thousand employees in all trades (design, production, support, digital).

Dassault Aviation was also present at the Paris Air Lab, a discovery space dedicated to innovation, where the company’s specialists coordinated the "Big Data & Artificial Intelligence" block. This included pilot decision support systems (PEA MMT); Big Data applications serving civil and military OCM, and Big Data visualisation.

Furthermore, at the show, Dassault Aviation hosted the partners it supports in the context of its societal actions:
* The Social Air Works Foundation (AAF);
* The Antoine de Saint-Exupéry Foundation for Youth;
* "They Move", an association encouraging high school students to choose the engineering professions;
* "Kids dreams" and "An airplane, a child, a dream", associations offering air baptisms to extra-ordinary children;
* Dorine Bourneton, disabled aerobatic pilot.
"This Paris Air Show 2019 illustrated the preparation of the future: extension of the Falcon range (6X), strengthening of support services, proposal of what could be a demonstrator of new generation fighter aircraft (NGF ) as part of the Future Air Combat System (Scaf) and agreements between Dassault Aviation and Airbus," said Éric Trappier, CEO, Dassault Aviation.

 Industrial Architect
Dassault Aviation has a century of accumulated experience, with 10,000 aircraft sold in 90 countries and over a hundred prototypes having explored all the possible formulas: very high and very low speeds, variable geometry, vertical take-off, airborne planes, ballistic missiles, systems space, stealth drones.

The company is a leader of the new generation combat aircraft (NGF) in the European cooperation. It is the designer and manufacturer of the Rafale fighter plane, capable of performing all types of missions, for both air and naval forces. It has also designed and manufactured PATMAR ATL2 and mission Falcon (including SURMAR), and the nEUROn combat drone.
It is also the designer and manufacturer of Falcon business jets known for their low fuel consumption, technological innovations, flight qualities and versatility.

Thales Group is the leading industrial shareholder in the company and is the pivot of a strategic industrial network that includes hundreds of companies in France and internationally.

‘Rafale’ Omnirole Aircraft
The Rafale, with its “Omnirole” capabilities, is the right answer to the capability approach selected by an increasing number of governments. It fully complies with the requirement to carry out the widest range of roles with the smallest number of aircraft.
The Rafale participates in permanent “Quick Reaction Alert” (QRA) / air-defence / air sovereignty missions, power projection and deployments for external missions, deep strike missions, air support for ground forces, reconnaissance missions, pilot training sorties and nuclear deterrence duties.

The Air Force single-seat Rafale C, the Air Force two-seat Rafale B, and the Navy single-seat Rafale M feature maximum airframe and equipment commonality, and very similar mission capabilities.

Of a moderate size, yet extremely powerful, agile and discrete, this latest type of combat aircraft from Dassault Aviation does not only integrate the largest and most modern range of sensors, it also multiplies their efficiency with a technological breakthrough, the “multi-sensor data fusion”. This function allows the pilot to act as a true “tactical decision maker”, rather than being only a sensor operator.

Flexible and Efficient
Dassault Aviation’s Falcon superstructure uses state-of-the-art aerospace materials such as titanium, magnesium, composite laminates, hybrids and alloys. This makes the Falcon lighter, stronger and durable than ordinary business jets.
The exterior of every Falcon is designed to slice through the air more cleanly and efficiently than any other business jet, and at every altitude. Unique wing design allows each jet to land at a slower speed than similar jets in its class, giving it access to hundreds more smaller airports than other planes its size.
