UAE security delegation attends Milipol, Paris

A government delegation from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) attended one of Europe’s premier events on homeland security and law enforcement in Paris, to discuss best practice with industry peers and promote the 2014 edition of the International Exhibition for Security and National Resilience (ISNR) event in Abu Dhabi from 1-3 April, 2013.

The delegation including the representatives from the UAE Ministry of Interior, Civil Defense and Abu Dhabi Police attended Milipol, Paris, a premier platform for security and law enforcement. The 18th edition of the four-day event which took place under the aegis of the French Ministry of Interior (Homeland Security Department) drew more than 30,000 visitors from 50 countries.

The key objective of the visit was to allow the UAE delegation to share information with Milipol exhibitors and participators ahead of Abu Dhabi’s multifaceted ISNR and to better understand the needs and trends of a rapidly evolving security industry. The delegation stressed the importance of Abu Dhabi as a regional leader in homeland security and national resilience against a backdrop of ever sophisticated threats.

Seventyfive percent of the ISNR’s exhibition space has been booked six months ahead of the launch date.

Major General Staff Dr. Obeid Al Kutbi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police and Chairman of the Higher Organizing Committee of ISNR and  the International Conference on Security Challenges to be held a day before the exhibition said: “Despite the 40 percent increase in exhibition space this year, bookings for next year’s event have grown by 35 percent when compared to the same period last year.”

He added: “The significant presence of local, regional, and international exhibitors participating and exhibiting the latest and most advanced innovations and technologies in security, safety and emergency, demonstrates Abu Dhabi’s ability to organise and host large international activities and exhibitions.

“The Emirate has become a key business tourism destination across several industries, which is reflected in the interest of several leading international companies committing to participate in this biennial event ahead of the deadline.

“ISNR Abu Dhabi 2014 is a platform that introduces the very latest safety and security technologies to regional industry professionals – facilitating knowledge sharing and promoting the adoption best practice. With every edition, ISNR further establishes itself as one of the leading events specific to safety and security in the region – a fact demonstrated by the surge in exhibition bookings.”

The list of companies set to participate includes, Tawazun, International Golden Group (IGG), Advanced Integrated Systems, Mubadala Development Company, the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA), Emirates Advanced Investments, and Atlas Group.

In addition, companies such as MP3 International, Motorola Solutions, Smiths Detection, Thales Group, a global leader in advanced technologies for defence, security, space and transportation industries, Harris Corporation, Morpho (Safran), Cassidian EADS, International Armored Group, American Science and Engineering Inc. (AS&E), and Elcom International, have also confirmed participation.
ISNR Abu Dhabi 2014 will feature dedicated platforms for Homeland Security and National Resilience, Information Security, and Critical Infrastructure Security. It will also feature two collocated launch events: Fire and Emergency Middle East (FEME) and Occupational Safety and Health Middle East (OSH ME). In addition, a high level international conference on security challenges is scheduled for March 31, 2014.

Attracting governmental, semi-governmental and private sector attendees, ISNR Abu Dhabi 2014 is expected to attract 400 exhibitors and 15,000 senior security, safety and risk prevention professionals from across the Middle East, North Africa and the world.
Taking place at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) the event is organized by the Ministry of Interior in cooperation with REED Exhibitions.
