Our Armed Forces in the Emirati Conscience

On all national occasions and events in the UAE, the high status of the Armed Forces is high in the collective consciousness of the people of the country, who hold their role in protecting the nation’s security, stability and achievements in deep appreciation and respect. They also commemorate their heroism and sacrifices in all their contributions abroad. This explains the loyalty shown by both the leadership and people to the souls of martyrs who offered their lives to defend this homeland and keep its flags soaring high in the fields of duty and honour.

They also commemorate their heroism and sacrifices in all their contributions abroad. This explains the loyalty shown by both the leadership and people to the souls of martyrs who offered their lives to defend this homeland and keep its flags soaring high in the fields of duty and honour.
This reflects the wise leadership’s and Emirati people’s appreciation for the heroic sacrifices of the Armed Forces, which in turn deepens the feelings of pride, loyalty and belonging among our Armed Forces members.
We take great pride in the mutual love and affection that binds us to our prudent leadership. The slogan “Unified Home” or (Al Bait Metwahhed), launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, may God protect him, has become a testament to the depth of the patriotic spirit of our people, who hold the Armed Forces in pride and esteem.
This deep bond between the UAE people and the Armed Forces has been expressed in the hashtag “Loyal Hawks”, launched by UAE citizens in celebration of the sacrifices of our valiant soldiers when they returned from Yemen. The hashtag received an unprecedentedly high number of ‘views’ and ‘shares’ on Twitter, as it recorded over 56 million views from around the world in the very first hours of its launch. The comments of citizens on this hashtag unanimously agreed that our Armed Forces heroes provide a great example of redemption and sacrifice to spread security and safety and defend human values and principles.
This was highlighted by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan when he addressed our soldiers on returning from Yemen: “Our Armed Forces are the shield that protects our country. We are advocates of peace, yet we have resolute determination when it comes to threatening our security or the security of our brothers... You have performed your duty towards the nation and for the stability of the region… Your sacrifices and your national and humanitarian role have kindled the torch of hope for our brothers in Yemen... The UAE will remain a supporter of brothers and a bridge of peace.”

Our Armed Forces are now an advanced, sophisticated army and a trained military force with state-of-the-art equipment and ordnance. They have accumulated combat expertise and hold a military doctrine that responds to the challenges of the present and realises the requirements of the future. They enjoy the ability to maintain security and stability and actively contribute with friendly and brotherly militaries for the post-war reconstruction of countries.
They are not a force for oppression or aggression. History is a witness to the efficiency and high professionalism of our Armed Forces through their contributions to foreign missions, whether in peacekeeping or providing aid and humanitarian relief in areas of disputes and conflicts. Our Armed Forces are founded on the values and principles of the UAE, the values of truth and goodness. It is a force for peace, stability and the defence of justice.
They are not a force for oppression or aggression.
