Irish Minister Visits Nation Shield
Pat Breen T.D. Ireland’s Minister of State for Trade, Employment, Business, EU Digital Single Market and Data Protection visited Nation Shield at the show yesterday. He spoke about the show and its significance to the industry. Breen highlighted the strong trade links between the two countries, and in the aviation sector,
particularly.

“Ireland and the UAE share a strong connection when it comes to the aviation sector, which is why we are on a state mission here. We are meeting with some of the Emirati (regional) companies and discussing partnerships. We are happy with the response from the visitors at the Irish stand,” Breen said.
Irish companies can play a significant role in the global aviation sector because of their solid record in the industry. Speaking on the importance of the show to Irish companies, he said, “A lot of business is done at the airshow. We are meeting several businesses and airlines who are very keen on taking our partnerships further. We have our best aviation companies here, as well as the Enterprise Ireland, which supports the indigenous companies in Ireland. I am sure that the collaboration between Ireland’s aviation sector and Dubai will continue to grow. And I am hoping to meet some of the companies from Ireland here.”
He congratulated Dubai for another successful edition of the event.
“Aeroplane makers are now wary about the environmental effect of aviation and are focused on providing futuristic solutions that address this challenge. You can see many exhibitors here highlighting composites, energy-efficient and cost-efficient solutions.
“This is a very exciting time for aviation, people are travelling a lot, and connectivity is essential for them so the demand will not go down,” Breen added.
