WAHAJ and Nexter Join Forces for Saudi Armed Forces

WAHAJ and Nexter Munitions, a KNDS company, set up a joint venture in late 2023 to manufacture 155mm ammunition solutions for the Saudi Armed Forces and share investments on a long-term basis.

As a long-term partner of the Saudi Armed Forces, KNDS actively supports the development of the Ammunition Technological & Industrial Base in Saudi Arabia enacted under the KSA Vision 2030 programme.

The localisation of the manufacturing of Modular Charges in KSA for 155mm artillery systems will be undertaken by the JV titled WAHAJ NEXTER Industries.
The forging and machining of shell bodies for large-calibre ammunition in KSA will be supported by NEXTER Munitions, who will provide expertise and technical assistance to WAHAJ.

The projects demonstrate that KNDS is fully committed to fulfilling Industrial Participation Policy objectives in KSA within the framework of new contracts with Saudi Forces for the delivery of ammunition.

Frantz Caillau, board member of the JV and Managing Director of NEXTER Munitions, said: “KNDS is proud to have set up a new JV together with WAHAJ to build local capabilities in Saudi Arabia for state-of-the-art ammunition. Our long-term partnership with KSA is taking a step further with WAHAJ and will contribute actively to KSA’s defence ambitions.”.
