Abu Dhabi Aviation Leases 2 AW139

Abu Dhabi Aviation (ADA) recently signed a five-year contract for two AW139 helicopters with Bestfly Aircraft Management in Luanda, Angola. The aircraft will be used to support operations in oil & gas, and transport in Angola. The contact signed with Best Fly Aircraft Management took place in Luanda, Angola, and the delivery and hand over of the aircraft took place in Leonardo’s factory in Italy.

Ashraf Fahmy, CFO of Abu Dhabi Aviation said: “Abu Dhabi Aviation carefully selects its overseas partners based on professionalism, honesty, integrity, ambition and drive for expansion and growth. I had the pleasure of meeting Bestfly’s owners and directors in person in the UAE and I am pleased to say that the meeting was a testimony of these qualities. At ADA, we focus on long term relationships with our partners for the mutual success of our companies. I look forward to witnessing the success of our partnership with Bestfly and to our expansion in Angola and elsewhere.”

The signing for this contract is a part of ADA’s strategy to expand its presence on the global arena. “60 per cent of the company’s operations is with the oil & gas companies in and outside the UAE, yet a part of ADA’s strategy is intended to launch its operations in many regions around the world, especially the Mediterranean, Africa, Asia, and South America,” said Dr Mark Pierotti, Director of Commercial Department, Abu Dhabi Aviation.

Over the years, ADA has been buying additional aircraft and expanding the size of its fleet. The company has also been increasing foreign operations in many regions around the world. ADA is currently operating in Zambia, Spain, Malaysia, and Nigeria. It has had past operations in Brazil, Cyprus, Afghanistan, Kenya, Cameroon, among others. Further, Pierotti added, “Subsidiaries of Abu Dhabi Aviation, such as Royal Jet for private aviation, Maximus for air cargo, and the Abu Dhabi Aviation Training Center (ADTC) are working in clear harmony to achieve the company’s strategic goals.”

Furthermore, Lee Pace Senior Manager Airworthiness & Fleet at Abu Dhabi Aviation said: “The addition of these two aircraft takes the total number of aircraft in the ADA fleet to over 64 aircraft now in over seven countries.”

Nuno Pereira, CEO and Managing Director of BestFly commented: “Bestfly is very proud of this great achievement in such a short time. We must truly thank ADA’s team for its prompt and efficient response to our need. Bestfly is very proud of this achievement and believes that it is the first step for the sustainable growth of its Oil and Gas Support operations.”
