Rosoboronexport Inks Deals Worth €1 B at MAKS-2021

Rosoboronexport JSC (part of the Rostec State Corporation) recently participated at the MAKS-2021 International Air Show, held in Zhukovsky, Russia, where it signed 13 export contracts worth over €1 billion for the supply of Russian military products.

Alexander Mikheev, Director General of Rosoboronexport, said: “Following the results of MAKS-2021, the Su-30SME fighters, Mi-35M and Mi-17V-5 helicopters, the Protivnik-GE radar, Verba MANPADS, as well as advanced air weapons, a number of armoured and automotive vehicles have been added to the company’s order book and Russian defence manufacturers’ production plans.”

The Su-30SME aircraft ensures effective Air Defence Missile System (ADMS) penetration. It demonstrates great combat capabilities due to significant delivered combat payload. Moreover, it has a super maneuvrability feature that gives Su-30SME an advantage over enemy aircraft.

While Verba MANPADS is the latest Russian Man-Portable Air-Defence System (MANPADS) with enhanced capabilities when firing at targets with low levels of thermal radiation and a reduced consumption of missiles when destroying various targets.

At the show, Rosoboronexport held presentations of aircraft, helicopters, air defence and electronic warfare systems for more than 30 delegations from 20 countries. During the negotiations at MAKS-2021, the company’s foreign partners also expressed interest in acquiring MiG-35D fighters, IL-76MD-90A(E) military transport aircraft, IL-78MK-90A tanker aircraft, Mi-28NE and Ka-52 attack helicopters, Mi-171Sh military transport and Ka-226T multi-purpose helicopters, as well as air defence systems, including the Pantsir-S1 SPAAGM system.

During talks on the sidelines of the air show, Rosoboronexport discussed industrial partnership in the field of joint and licensed production of Russian combat aircraft and helicopters, as well as modernisation of previously delivered aircraft equipment with customers from the Asia-Pacific region, the Middle East, Latin America, Africa, and the CIS.

“Rosoboronexport’s partners became interested in the newest Checkmate light tactical aircraft unveiled by Rostec at MAKS-2021. Several customers were shown its prototype and even given the opportunity to sit in its cockpit. They praised its characteristics,” Mikheev added.

In addition, Rosoboronexport and Technodinamika signed joint programmes to promote parachute equipment and research and development services in the external market. The signing ceremony was attended by Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov, Minister of Industry and Trade, Denis Manturov, and Rostec CEO Sergey Chemezov.
