CAE Receives Full Flight Simulator Contract
CAE recently announced that CAE Defense & Security has been awarded a contract from Leidos on the U.S. Department of Defense’s Sentinel task order for a dedicated Full Flight Simulator (FFS). This will be for the Bombardier Global 6000/6500 configuration at the Dothan Training Center to support the High Accuracy Detection and Exploitation System (HADES).
CAE will build and deliver a 7000XR FFS to support the requirements of the U.S. Army G-2 Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) Task Force and the Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM). It will provide timely, relevant, and accurate intelligence to tactical, operational, and strategic commanders.
The CAE 7000XR Series FFS is ideally suited to meet the specific requirements of operators. CAE’s FFS have earned global recognition as the “gold standard” for their high fidelity and reliability, as they provide improved training efficiency, advanced training capability, and increased operational efficiency.
The FFS offers integrated information for easier access to advanced functions, an intuitive lesson plan builder and a 3D map of the airplane flight path with event markers. It also provides increased information density, minimises navigation, and ergonomically redesigned interiors and instructor office. Furthermore, the FFS is built for lower ownership costs and increased reliability and offers improved part reliability and software interface and dashboards.
The Bombardier Global 6000/6500 aircraft was selected as the new manned aerial intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance platform to meet current and emerging requirements. The platform supports the needs of speed, range, endurance-at-range, and altitude to overcome the physical challenges without sacrificing the quality and capability of collection that airborne ISR provides.
“As Bombardier’s Global 6500 Authorised Training Provider, CAE is uniquely positioned to provide the U.S. Army with a turnkey Global 6000/6500 solution to meet their training requirements,” says Daniel Gelston, President, CAE Defense & Security. “We look forward to supporting HADES and the advancement of this next-generation airborne ISR system.”
He added that CAE will continue its support of military modernisation through its advanced technology and training solutions.
