DAGOR to Enhance Mobility of Special Operation Forces
Ultralight mobility is at the forefront of many military’s needs as light forces return to more expeditionary mission profiles. And Polaris Defense’s flagship DAGOR is a light combat vehicle designed to be modular and to support a variety of expeditionary missions. DAGOR expands upon the existing rugged sportsman MV 850, the modular Nimble MRZR, featuring better payload and off-road mobility than any previous tactical light off-road vehicle.
The enhanced tactical mobility provided by Polaris Defense gives an advantage back to dismounted troops, allowing formations to move faster, carry more and significantly reduce combat fatigue. And they are all certified for transport via rotary and fixed wing aircraft. Furthermore, DAGOR is engineered to meet a very demanding set of light-mobility needs and provides the optimal balance of rapid air transportability, payload, and advanced mobility. The design offers a modular, light-weight platform to support a variety of expeditionary missions.
With seating for up to nine and a 1,474 kg of payload, DAGOR gives an advantage back to dismounted war fighters, allowing formations to move faster, carry more and significantly reduce combat fatigue. The small size and light weight (3,515 kg) allow DAGOR to be internally transportable on a variety of in-service aircraft, including CH-47 and C-130.
Powering the DAGOR is a lightweight Diesel/JP8 engine with a 500-mile range to get troops where they need to go. The DAGOR is designed not only to transport troops, but supplies as well, and is capable of utilising Heavy Weapons. The vehicle has contracts with elements of USSOCOM and Australia, as well as two other allied militaries, and started fielding in 2015.
All Polaris Defense ultralight vehicles use robust commercial off-the-shelf components for intuitive operation and easier maintenance worldwide. Polaris Defense also has been recognised for its practical and scalable approach to vehicle service and support by providing military customers with a very high level of support at a relatively low cost. Support is tailored to the specific needs of the customer, which most often includes parts support, operator training and mechanic certification courses.
Polaris Defense vehicles deliver a coveted combination of deployability, versatility and off-road mobility, forged from more than 60 years of off-road vehicle experience that is simply unmatched. And because more than 20 allied militaries and every service in the U.S. use Polaris vehicles throughout the world, there is a high degree of interoperability and commonality among the U.S. and allied forces.
