Korean Helicopters to Get IAI Anti-Jamming Shield

Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) announced at the Seoul ADEX 2023 exhibition a pivotal contract with Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) to equip the Light Armed Helicopter (LAH) 2nd Phase Production with its latest Adaptive Defence Antenna (ADA) system.

ADA, a GPS anti-jamming solution, is adept at suppressing interferences from multiple jammers across various directions, revolutionising LAH platform defences.

The ADA system, chosen in 2017 by the Defence Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) for Republic of Korea Air Force, Navy, and Army platforms, integrates seamlessly into LAH prototypes, part of a programme led by KAI.

The system’s adaptability extends to existing navigation solutions across airborne, surface, and maritime platforms, including guided munitions.
Operating in L1 and L2 bands, supporting C/A and P(Y) signals, and designed with the M-code waveform, it ensures reliability.
IAI has over 20 years of proven experience in supplying top-tier Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) anti-jamming solutions for the most challenging requirements.

Proven Resilience
The system is a mature, battle-proven and certified system, effective against all forms of jamming and allowing continuous operation under challenging environments. Its performance was intensively tested by various customers worldwide in operational scenarios with multiple jammers, demonstrating exceptional performance.

Boaz Levy, IAI President and CEO commented: “The recent transactions by IAI serve as a testament to the company’s impactful collaborations on the global stage, underscoring the trust that nations place in IAI’s solutions. We take pride in sustaining the company’s economic growth trajectory while standing beside the IDF and security forces, dedicated to serving our customers during both times of conflict and routine operations.”

Levy added: “This contract signifies a significant milestone in our collaboration, as IAI is set to deliver its Adaptive Defense Antenna system for the Light Armed Helicopter 2nd Phase Production in the Republic of Korea. The ADA system exemplifies our dedication to ensuring reliability and security in critical defence applications.”

IAI, established in 1953, stands as a prominent player in aerospace and defence sectors, specialising in a wide array of technologies for defence and commercial applications. With expertise in space, air, land, naval, cyber, and homeland security, the company leverages both innovation and combat experience to offer bespoke solutions.

Its portfolio includes satellites, unmanned aerial vehicles, missiles, intelligence systems, weapon systems, air defence solutions, robotics, radars, business jets, aerostructures, and more.
