OTOKAR Celebrates 60 Years of Excellence

OTOKAR is marking its 60th anniversary by celebrating its expertise in the design, development, production and system integration of armoured wheeled and tracked land and amphibious platforms in the global defence industry.

The company designs and manufactures a wide range of tactical armoured vehicles, including 4x4, 6x6, 8x8 and tracked military vehicles namely, COBRA, COBRA II, COBRA II- MRAP, AKREP II, URAL, ISV, ARMA 6x6, ARMA 8x8, ARMA II 8x8 and tracked armoured vehicles TULPAR, TULPAR S and ALPAR the Unmanned Heavy Ground Vehicle.

OTOKAR land platforms are recognised for their survivability, mobility and modularity. The combat-proven military vehicles serve in challenging terrain and extreme weather conditions and demonstrate superior performance in various operations worldwide in more than 40 countries with 60 end users. A high power-to-weight ratio, all-terrain high-performance suspension and automatic track tensioning system offer superior mobility in diverse terrain and climatic conditions.

The military vehicles designed as multi-purpose system platforms are renowned for their significant ballistic and mine protection and high payload capacity to meet the requirements of modern armed forces for all types of missions on the battlefield.

AKREP II, built on the globally successful AKREP armoured wheeled vehicle range that OTOKAR first developed in 1995, is designed as an armoured reconnaissance, surveillance and weapons platform. Combining high firepower and survivability in a low silhouette, the AKREP II range, designed to meet the current and future needs of modern armies, offers a modular construction that comfortably carries turrets up to 90mm cannon.

AKREP II’s four-wheel drive system and steerable rear axle (optional) give the vehicle manoeuvrability. AKREP II can operate with equal ease on all challenging terrain conditions, whether soft sand, deep mud, or snow. Relying on the four-wheel independent suspension and swift torque control of the power pack, AKREP II can travel cross-country over challenging terrain and traverse deep mud, snow or water with equal ease. It also controls the basic mechanical components of steering, acceleration, and deceleration electrically (drive-by-wire).

As a multi-role vehicle suitable for different types of missions, AKREP II has the ability to provide effective firepower without compromising survivability. Medium-calibre turrets up to 90 mm can be integrated. AKREP II can also be configured for a weapon platform for quick reaction, surveillance missions, armed reconnaissance, air defence missions, forward observer, and other similar tasks.
