Steadicopter’s Aerial Expertise Soars in U.S. Debut

Steadicopter, a prominent player in the Rotary Unmanned Aerial Systems (RUAS) sector, unveiled its groundbreaking sensor-to-shooter solution in the United States for the first time at the recent AUSA 2023 (Association of the United States Army) event.

This innovative capability is harnessed through their Rotary Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (RUAV) platforms, which include the Golden Eagle with highly precise strike capabilities and the Black Eagle family, designed for exceptionally accurate ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance) operations.

Leveraging the combat-proven Black Eagle 50 Electric platform, the Golden Eagle features Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology and the Airborne Remotely Controlled Weapon System (ARCWS). AI technology enhances situational awareness and enables autonomous multi-target classification and tracking, while the ARCWS ensures precise target engagement.

The Golden Eagle integrates Smartshooter’s SMASH Dragon system, featuring unique stabilisation and proprietary target acquisition and tracking algorithms with advanced computer vision capabilities.

The system can utilise various types of weapons such as 5.56 - 7.62mm rifles, sniper rifles, 40mm grenade launches and others, providing tactical manoeuvring forces with remote terrain dominance and pinpoint lethal accuracy.

AI Capabilities
Using advanced data processing, the AI system autonomously identifies and distinguishes between different types of targets, including individuals and vehicles, whether they are in motion or stationary. It can also determine if they have been previously present in the field.

Lightweight and enabling long mission endurance, the Golden Eagle is cost-effective, simple to operate, and easy to maintain.

The Black Eagle 50 (BE50) revolutionises uncrewed operations by delivering a cost-effective, high-quality real-time ISR solution for both land and maritime environments. It achieves this through an exceptional blend of covert flight endurance and a versatile sensor suite. It easily supports a wide range of mission payloads, including EO/IR, SAR, Maritime Patrol Radar (MPR), tactical communication relay, cargo delivery, and more.

Persistent Surveillance
With a near-to-zero operational, maintenance and logistic footprint, it provides wide-area persistent surveillance and coverage for long durations and has the advantages of the rotary-UAS, such as persistent hovering, enabling additional concepts of operations for many mission applications.

Both systems withstand harsh weather conditions and can carry and fly with heavy and asymmetric payloads.

“Steadicopter is proud to have introduced, for the first time in the United States, its advanced tactical unmanned helicopter platforms for precision sensor-to-shooter operation, with minimal collateral damage,” says Noam Lidor, VP Sales, Marketing & Business Development at Steadicopter.

“Our company is a supplier of systems and services for the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) and the Israeli Navy as well as for other customers around the world.”.
