Langkawi Gears Up for LIMA 2025
Get ready for five days of high-octane aerial drama and maritime marvels as the 17th Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA 2025) sets course for Langkawi Island from May 20–24.
The biennial showcase, one of the most prestigious events of its kind in the Asia Pacific region, will once again bring together the best of aviation and naval innovation for both defence and commercial sectors.
From breathtaking air displays to cutting-edge technology exhibitions, LIMA 2025 promises to be an unforgettable event for professionals and the public alike.
Held under the Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Transport Malaysia, LIMA has grown from humble beginnings in 1991 into a globally recognised platform for the aerospace and maritime industries.
It now supposedly stands as the only exhibition in the world that simultaneously covers both sectors on such a grand scale, offering a unique blend of trade-focused engagement and public entertainment.
Trade and Public Days with Distinctive Experiences
LIMA 2025 is neatly divided into Trade Days and Public Days to cater to two dynamic audiences. Trade Days, running from May 20–22, are exclusively for industry professionals, delegates, and trade visitors.
These days are designed to foster partnerships, host business-to-business meetings, and unveil the latest technological advancements across defence, aerospace, commercial aviation, and maritime sectors.
The exhibition floor will be teeming with experts, innovators, and decision-makers from around the world, making it a prime opportunity for networking and industry insight.
Attendees can engage with representatives from all Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries, fostering regional collaboration and business opportunities, while capitalising on exceptional networking opportunities with 46,233 trade visitors to enhance business prospects and industry connections.
They can also foster valuable business relationships and industry partnerships by connecting with over 600 exhibitors, access a diverse range of international markets, establish cross-border partnerships, and gain insights into global industry trends through 20 country pavilions.
Moreover, engaging with key international decision-makers from 632 country delegations offers a chance to expand global networks and explore new business opportunities, gaining global exposure and building diverse business connections.
The excitement continues on May 23 and 24, when the gates open to the public. These Public Days will be action-packed with spellbinding air shows, thrilling aerial manoeuvres, and dynamic maritime demonstrations.
It is a chance for families, enthusiasts, and aspiring engineers to engage directly with the wonders of flight and sea power. From static aircraft displays to immersive exhibitions, LIMA offers an educational and inspirational experience for all ages.
Visitors can witness 119 participating aircraft and five foreign aerobatic teams, experiencing the breathtaking spectacle of precision flying skills that showcase the capabilities of various aircraft and the teamwork of aerobatic teams.
A Show of Global Strength and Collaboration
The previous edition of the event recorded remarkable numbers — 512 exhibitors, seven international pavilions, 500 foreign delegations, and representation from 25 countries.
On the visitor side, the exhibition welcomed over 30,000 trade visitors and an astonishing 200,000 members of the public.
At the heart of the event is collaboration — the bringing together of global expertise under one sky and on one sea. From defence contractors and commercial airline manufacturers to naval innovators and space solution providers, it remains the touchpoint for current and future technology solutions.
Featuring industries include: Aerospace, MRO, Sustainability Defence, System Integration, Cyber Security, Biochemical Defence, Logistics, Green Defence, Engineering & Design, Space Technology, Ports, Maritime, AERO Manufacturing, UAS, Research & Technology, and Training & Education.
LIMA Gallery: A Legacy on Display
One of the standout features of LIMA 2025 will be the LIMA Gallery, which will serve as an inspirational platform to showcase the exhibition’s rich history since its inception in 1991. Visitors can expect to see a carefully curated collection of historical materials, offering a glimpse into LIMA’s evolution and its enduring impact on the industry.
Anticipation Builds Up
From government delegations and defence contractors to aviation enthusiasts and maritime aficionados, LIMA 2025 is generating excitement on all fronts. The exhibition is not just a trade event — it is a celebration of innovation, collaboration, and human ingenuity.
Whether it is the roar of fast jets slicing through the sky, the sight of cutting-edge vessels patrolling Langkawi’s scenic waters, or the inspiring displays in the exhibition halls, the event is poised to offer a complete experience that connects people with technology and ambition with opportunity.
