Tawazun, Naval Group, Marakeb Ink NCMS Deal

Tawazun Council, Naval Group, and Marakeb Technologies have entered into a Joint Development Agreement to develop the National Combat Management System (NCMS), utilising a comprehensive Transfer of Technology and Transfer of Know-How. 
 
This agreement is a significant step towards enhancing the UAE’s defence and security industries, fostering rapid sectoral growth, and delivering national defence solutions tailored to future requirements.
 
The agreement was signed in Abu Dhabi by Shareef Hashim Al Hashmi, CEO of Operations at Tawazun Council, Lilian Brayle, Executive vice president combat system & Equipment at Naval Group, and Basel Shuhaiber, Chief Executive Officer, Marakeb Technologies, in the presence of senior officials.
 
Innovation Synergy
Naval Group will collaborate with Marakeb Technologies LLC, a subsidiary of the Strategic Development Fund Company (SDF), selected as the joint development national partner for this programme. It will enhance the NCMS capability for the UAE Navy, enabling them to deploy a national CMS integrated into their naval fleet, for both newbuild and retrofit ship programmes.
 
Muammar Abdulla Abushehab, CEO of Tawazun, stated that the NCMS project for the UAE Naval Forces is integral to efforts aimed at bolstering the defence and security industries. It involves acquiring advanced defence equipment and technology to elevate the UAE’s standing in this field.
 
“The NCMS is aimed at developing a system that provides support for operational capabilities and offers national solutions through its local partner. It aims to supply the armed forces with advanced defence products and enhance national competencies,” he added.
 
Pierre Éric Pommellet, CEO of Naval Group stated: “We are pleased with this new step in our long-term cooperation and partnership with Tawazun Council.
