Texelis Delivers Game-Changing Celeris 6x6

Texelis, a leading French provider of mobility solutions for armoured vehicles, unveiled Celeris 6x6 at Eurosatory 2024, building upon the earlier success of Celeris 4x4.
The innovative solution offers a complete mobility package for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) seeking to develop new 6x6 vehicles in the 18-26 tonne range, encompassing applications such as Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs), Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected vehicles (MRAPs), Infantry Fighting Vehicles (IFVs), Self-Propelled Guns (SPGs), and system carriers.

The company’s commitment extends beyond delivering a platform; Celeris 6x6 empowers OEMs to assert ownership of their vehicles, manufactured locally to meet specific operational requirements.

Tactical Mobility Solutions
Developing a mobility solution entails navigating complexity and requires a diverse range of expertise. Companies engaged in extensive vehicle projects often choose to pursue in-house development strategies to maintain full control over design and performance specifications.

Alternatively, organisations operating under budget constraints may opt to adapt commercial chassis, despite the additional effort and potential compromise in performance.
For entities positioned between these extremes — seeking a balanced approach that combines high performance, ease of integration, and cost-effectiveness to rapidly expand or diversify their vehicle portfolios — Celeris presents itself as an optimal solution.

Unified Fleet Strategy
The Celeris family approach integrates Celeris 6x6 with its 4x4 predecessor, maintaining its shared philosophy and core components. This fosters commonality between both architectures, promoting synergies and a unified fleet strategy across the range of solutions.
Within the framework, the company dedicates itself to customising the mobility platform to precise customer specifications, facilitating vehicle design and supporting industrialisation.
It embodies a triple commitment: to developing bespoke solutions aligned with partner specifications, ensuring full autonomy, and providing comprehensive lifecycle support for the vehicle.

Celeris 6x6 includes the Cummins ISL9 engine developing 275 kW, the Allison 3200SP transmission, the Powerline transfer case, and three Texelis T750 axles. The rear axles offer options with trailing arms or double wishbones, and rear axle steering is available in the double wishbone configuration. It serves as an enabler for new 6x6 vehicles in several variants ranging from 18 to 26 tonnes.

The logic is retained at the production level, with a system of base, option, and industrial kits to fit all needs and adapt to all demands.

Challenging Aspect
The 6x6 platform clearly targets Original Equipment Manufacturers or military arsenals interested in enhancing their capabilities and developing new ranges of vehicles for national armies or export markets.

Selecting Celeris 6x6 ensures that the critical aspect of mobility, often the most challenging element in vehicle qualification, is meticulously customised to precise specifications.
This is achieved through leveraging a robust, developed, and production-ready technical foundation that has already been thoroughly tested. This approach not only minimises development risks but also accelerates the deployment timeline.

The development of this vehicle was spurred by market demand, prompted by Texelis’ partners who sought to expand the success of Celeris 4x4 to larger platforms. These partners acknowledged Celeris as instrumental in facilitating the introduction of their new vehicle lines, thereby augmenting the value proposition for their clientele.

Collaboration in Innovation
Texelis, known as the House of Mobility, excels in designing and manufacturing axles, drivelines, and complete mobility solutions for military vehicles spanning 4×4, 6x6, and 8×8 configurations.

Central to its portfolio is the Light Multi-Role Armoured Vehicle (VBMR) for France’s “Scorpion” programme, where Texelis collaborates with Nexter to deliver driveline solutions integrated into Nexter’s Serval systems. This partnership enhances mobility and protection for the French Army in diverse battlefield conditions .
